Craft Beer in the Tualatin Valley

The Oregon beer story is more than 150 years in the making, with the first breweries setting up shop in the mid-1800s. It wasn’t until the 1980s when the state’s craft brewing industry took off. Early pioneers of the Oregon craft beer scene include Dick and Nancy Ponzi (founders of Ponzi Vineyards) who started BridgePort Brewing Company in 1984, one of the first craft breweries in the region.

Today, Portland is the craft beer capital of the world, and here in Portland’s backyard, the Tualatin Valley is steadily growing with nearly a dozen breweries.

Each of our craft breweries produces its own style of distinctive, craft beers, as well as a host of taprooms featuring rotating selections of Oregon craft brews. With more than 20 breweries with on-site brewing facilities and countless other taprooms serving brews from all over the state, Tualatin Valley is one of Oregon’s premier beer destinations.
