Multi-Generation Travel: The New Way to Travel

Tualatin Valley has something fun for all ages that adds to the excitement of traveling. From restless young ones to the young at heart, plan a getaway that is sure to please everyone in the family. Experience the destination like those who live here do, with a mixture of fun, food and a little bit of education.

Your Tualatin Valley adventure starts at Tree to Tree Adventure Park. This is a playground in the trees and provides the perfect escape for all ages. The park’s aerial ropes courses are designed for all levels, from beginner to the experienced. Dueling zip lines and the zip line tour are perfect for older kids and adults, while the “Adventure Village” is designed specifically for kids two to eight years old. (Note: Tree to Tree is open seasonally, March through November)

After spending a few hours at the park, head over to McMenamins Grand Lodge. Enjoy lunch at the Ironwork Grill, where the young ones will be delighted by the kids menu, and the adults will find nourishment for the body and soul with its diverse menu (and its vast menu of McMenamins-crafted spirits, wines and beers).

Next, venture to Topgolf, a family-friendly, golf-focused entertainment center. Snack on delicious bites while hitting balls from the temperature controlled state-of-the-hitting bays. Play for fun, or get competitive to see who can get the highest score.

Try Tualatin Valley’s newest indoor attraction, K1 Speed, an all-electric go-kart experience. This state-of-the-art location features museum-quality motorsport memorabilia, all-electric Storm and junior go-karts imported directly from Italy, 11-turn road-course inspired track, and more.

For more adventure, make an appointment to fly at iFly Indoor Skydiving. Adventure seekers of all abilities and all ages, from 3 to 103, can experience the thrill of free falling, all under the guidance of a trainer.

For dinner, try The Lodge at Cascade Brewing. This popular brewpub offers a kids menu (kids eat free on Mondays), plus a variety of entrees for adults. For the 21-and-older crowd, the beer list features more than a dozen of Cascade Brewing’s acclaimed beers, including their claim to fame: sour beers.

  • Paddle along the calm Tualatin River Water Trail. This is an ideal river for all paddlers, from first-timers to seasoned pros.
  • Hike Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve’s 4.5 miles of trails and use the wildlife viewing blinds to view the many species of birds who frequent the preserve, and to see the bald eagle’s nest located deep in the preserve.
  • Stroll through the Tualatin Hills Nature Park and make a leaf rubbing using a leaf that has fallen from the ground, a pencil or crayon and a piece of paper. Or create a sketch of a tree or wildlife found in the park.
